Better for Kids (low tox) Nap Mats

Some of the littlest of students require to take nap mats to school. I have seen nap mats made of PVC, with flame retardants and PFAS chemicals… all of these are chemicals that can expose a child to really harmful chemicals like pthalates, lead, flame retardants etc.

There are a handful of healthier options, though. The “best” “purest” options will be plastic free - ie no polyester or other synthetic material. I listed the lower tox options on the top of the list. Having said that all of the ones that make my list I would be comfortable with…. which works best for you and your family will depend on budget, what you want to use it for (one doubles as a travel bed which significantly can extend the life and use) and if you want to use polyester or not.
