Eco Mama Muse: Mayumi Recker - Founder of Mogi Mogi Baby

Mayumi Recker is the Founder of Mogi Mogi Baby

Eco Mama Muse is a series where I get to spotlight mama warriors that are truly making it easier for all of us to raise non-toxic munchkins.

Meet Mayumi.

Mayumi Recker knows how hard it is for a mom to have a child with extra sensitive skin- that feeling of despair when you want to help with all of your heart but also don't want to expose them to harsh chemicals/ medicines that can have harmful side effects and not really knowing what the cause of the sensitivity is nor what other options- if any- there are.

Mayumi had just given birth to her first son when he developed eczema.

At the time she was told by her doctors to use steroids on her newborn.

Wary of unwanted side-effects, she felt strongly that she wanted to avoid the harsh steroids and find

a natural remedy that would be effective but also gentle enough to use everyday.

She was a mom on a mission.

After talking to more doctors in the US and Japan, and researching and testing

Mayumi finally found a natural and organic solution that worked on her son; and so the Mogi Mogi bath pack was created.

What is Mogi Mogi and why does it work so well?

Mogi Mogi are bath bags uniquely formulated with just three plant based ingredients.

The key ingredient that really makes Mogi Mogi unique is organic Yomogi, an Asian herb that is scientifically proven to reduce inflammation , used to treat skin problems like eczema, itchy skin and acne.

The other two ingredients?  Just as safe: organic oatmeal and Dead Sea Salt.  That is it.

Mogi mogi packs are great for any child (or adult! I have used them too) with sensitive skin; they soothe, cleanse and moisturize sensitive skin.

Basically you bath with them and use the cotton bag as a wash cloth - no soap nor moisturizer required!

Mogi Mogi is the first company in the US to use USDA certified organic yomogi in baby products and their cotton bags are completely biodegradable.

Roughly 60 percent of children may have some form of eczema throughout their lifetime!  In Mayumi's son's case, " My son's eczema was cured after consistently using  bath pack.  I saw the immediate improvement on his skin after the fist bath so I kept continuing to do the bath with Mogi Mogi. I still use it regularly to keep his skin healthy. "

According to the National Eczema Association “Eczema is the name for a group of conditions that cause the skin to become red, itchy and inflamed.

There are several types of eczema. Atopic dermatitiscontact dermatitisdyshidrotic eczema and seborrheic dermatitis, also known as “cradle cap” in infants, are the most common types that affect children. Eczema, especially atopic dermatitis, often appears in the first six months to 5 years of a child’s life.
